About this blog

This blog is my story about our wedding planning. I'm writing it for a few reasons.

  1. To share my wedding planning with friends and family on the other side of the world, who are maybe not as involved/up to date as they would have been if we were in the UK.
  2. To vent my frustrations with planning a wedding from the other side of the world, and feeling less involved with the process than I'd imagined.
  3. To share the entertainment that is the WIC (wedding industrial complex), who say that you have to have everything and it must be perfect (oh, but it's going to cost you).
  4. To share aspects of destination weddings from a travel perspective, and hopefully honeymoons/holidays in general. We live to travel, and have got quite good at planning it.
I don't view this as a budget wedding blog, although the WIC says I'm having budget wedding. I am going to share my budget, in the spirit of getting more open pricing in the wedding industry. This applies to vendors (just put the prices online and make everyone's life easier) and brides (it's not crass to talk about your budgeting decisions, it's helpful).

Just read lots of your blog posts. I think it is great the way you are showing what can be done while living abroad, traveling and on a budget.

I hope you don't mind I might use you on our website Paperless Wedding Blog and Pinterest. You have some great ideas.
